A green enamel bombè orb with diamond serpents crawling over it. The enamel is deep bottle green, glassy and lit from within, going nearly black where the dome turns under and flaring bright across the crown. Diamonds run the spine of every serpent, tails tapering and polished as if atop Medusa. Enameled creatures were the defining luxury of the 1960s and 70s. The best American workshops went all in on color and filled their benches with animal figures and enamel creations. Jewelers have used the serpent as a sign of renewal and protection for centuries, though rarely at this scale, and rarely set loose to roam over something instead of coiling around a finger.
