Retro 1940s Tank Belt Buckle Sapphire & Diamond 14k Gold Ring

SOLD - This treasure now resides in a cherished client's jewelry collection.

This 1940s retro ring showcases two of the era's most iconic motifs, turned from utility to fashion: the buckle and the tank tread design. The buckle motif was everywhere in wartime jewelry, a nod to the military hardware and practical dressing of the era, transformed by jewelers into something entirely luxurious. The wide band is a classic tank tread design: tight, interlocking rectangular gold links inspired by the military machinery that defined the decade. Riding atop it, a buckle plaque set with six single-cut diamonds and a sharp chevron of French calibré-cut blue sapphires—the same wartime hardware vocabulary, translated into something you'd wear to dinner with a cocktail in your hand. A gorgeous, highly wearable, and highly collectible ring with a rich design history to tell.
