Antique Georgian Garnet Pearl & Enamel Mourning Ring, 1820

SOLD - This treasure now resides in a cherished client's jewelry collection.

Over 200 years old and bearing its history with quiet grace. An authentic Late Regency mourning ring dated 1820, the rich cobalt blue enamel ground and halo of lustrous seed pearls frame a closed-back garnet, almost certainly foil-backed in the Georgian tradition to glow by candlelight. The gold shoulders are sculpted with naturalistic leaf motifs characteristic of the finest Regency goldsmithing, and the interior shank bears an original inscription, connecting this ring to real life.
